Opal A. Diserens, 83, of Gatesville died April 7 in a Gatesville hospital.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Diserens was born on Jan. 31, 1919 to the late Samuel and Mattie Gallagher Altum in the Silver City community of Coryell County, now part of Ft. Hood, where she was also reared and attended school.
She married Walter F. Diserens on April 17, 1936. They resided most of their married life in the Arnett community.
She was preceded in death by daughters Jeanette Cole and Patsy Perez.
She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Diserens; sons, John T. Diserens of Flat and Walter F. Diserens Jr. of Bastrop; fourteen grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Richard, Kevin, Tommy, and Rocky Diserens, James Adams, Randy Cole, David Cole, and Johnny Cole.
The family requests memorials be made to the Gateway Baptist Church.
