She was proceded in death by her parents, Louie and Vida Thomas and brother, Marvin Thomas. Suuvivors include her husband, Freddie Harrigill of Las Vegas,NV; two sons, Roy Harrigill and wife Marqueen of Milton, Fl; and John Louie Harrigill and wife Susan of Mansfield, TX; three daughters, Margie Jean Newman and husband Scott of Anaheim, Calif; Cindy Gail Whitehead and husband Glenn of Grand Prarie, TX; and Betty Ann Hall and husband James of Minden, LA; six sisters, Zanie Anderson of Modesto, Calif; Myrtis McManius and husband John of Terry, MS; Myrtil Payne and husband Eddie of Biloxie, MS; Lovenia Patrick and husband Kenneth of Terry, Miss; Billie Ruth Herring of Jackson, MS; and Nancy Breland and husband Calvin of Peral, MS; one brother, Jewell Thomas and wife Phyllis of Natchez, MS; 15 grandchildren, six great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Zadie Thomas, Harrigill was born February 12, 1929 In Redlick, Mississippi and went to be with the Lord on September 6, 1998 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her parents were Vida Louvenia Smith and Louie Jackson Thomas. She was the twin sister to Zanie Thomas, Anderson; two sisters and two brothers. She was the wife of Freddie Leroy Harrigill, who died February 23, 2017;the mother of five children, grandmother of sixteen, and great grandmother of eighteen. Labor Day weekend will always mark the day my heart broke in a thousand pieces as I'm sure it is the same way for my sisters and brothers. She suffered from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). Her twin sister also passed away from this same disease, March 20, 2010. Mother was a wonderful mother and a Christian woman who loved God and her family. She would give you the shirt off her back if you asked her. She loved to work crossword puzzles, play the harmonica, sing, and play cards. She could whistle louder than anyone I knew with two fingers or even using a blade of grass. She loved to draw and paint. She was a long time friend of the late Country western singer, Conway Twitty, who gave her the nick name "Dee". She was always a beautiful woman! She was tanned in complexion and had Red hair. When we were kids she wore her hair long and I can remember brushing her hair as she sang to me. I have a heart full of memory's of Mom! I still find myself wanting to call and tell her something. It doesn't feel like all these years have passed. It feels like it was yesterday. I will see her again one day, I have no doubt! She is in the house of God awaiting the reunion of her family. She isn't in pain, nor suffering for a breath of air! I picture her hand in hand with her twin; singing, laughing, and having a grand time and I miss you everyday, Mom and send you all my Love!

Dear Mom, May 8, 2011/ I looked for you today to tell you something...I found you while I walked this morning, as I looked over my shoulder and you hurried to catch up with me so I wouldn't walk alone . I found you as I shut my eyes and in-visioned your smile and the sweet smell of your perfume. I found you as I was cooking dinner and you were reminding me of your favorite recipe. I found you as I opened a dresser drawer and saw the purple flowered printed pajamas you wore last. I looked for you today to tell you something .... I found you early in the morning, as I dressed for Church. You were staring back at me from the image in my mirror. You sat beside me on the pew as I listened to the service. You joined in the laughter and the hugs as your great grandchildren played. I look over at the couch in the living room and I can still see your head bob as you fight the sleep while we watch a movie. I looked for you today to tell you something... I found you laying peacefully in the green grass as the birds sang and the butterfly's danced in the air above you. I found you listening to me as I talked ,watching over me as my tears hit the ground. I found you lovingly and patiently waiting at a gate for your family to come home. Your smile so big and your arms ready to embrace us. I looked for you today to tell you something... To tell you how much I love you and miss you, not only on this day, but everyday, every second that goes by. Love Forever and Always, Your daughter,Betty Ann

My Momma is an Angel"
by Betty Hall Sept. 1, 2019

We have our youngest granddaughter, Holly, staying the day with us and needing to go to the cemetery to freshen up flowers on my Mothers grave, I take her with me. I buckle her up in her car seat and place a small spaded shovel and new flowers on the floorboard on my truck, just under her feet. Her smile is big and eyes are bright with excitement as she ask if the flowers are for her. I hesitate a moment and wonder how she will understand this outing to the graveyard and how to tell her what I'm doing. No, sweetie, these flowers are for my Momma and your great Grandmother. I could tell she was thinking on what I said and she seemed fine with my answer. The cemetery is only five miles down the road from our home and I could see her tiny face in my rearview mirror and then she ask me..."Are we going to see your Momma", and fighting back the tears, I answer her with a yes and that we will be there soon. Driving up to the cemetery is always bitter sweet for me. As I park , I can see my mothers headstone from where I stopped and I can already feel her presence looking on. I take my granddaughters hand, gather up my tool and flowers and as we are walking up the open path, I am still wondering how a toddler is going to react to what I will have to tell her. We stop at my Mommas grave and her tiny hand is still in mine. I've been through this before with my first granddaughter and it was just as hard then as it is now. Holly, this is your grandmothers resting place. Her body is asleep right now but she's an angel in heaven with God. She looks up and ask if my Momma is in the clouds and I tell her yes. "Will she wake up. she ask?" Yes, Holly, one day and you will meet her one day. "Do you miss her, she ask?" Very much, I tell her. So, with the help of my youngest granddaughter, we dug a small hole near the stone, and put new flowers. Holly put the dirt back in the hole and patted it down with her small hand and I knew right then that the answers to her questions were excepted and somehow this little child understood. Time to go, Holly. I tell my mother goodbye and I love and miss her very much and that I was glad to introduce her to another grandchild. Walking back to the truck, her tiny hand in mine, she wanted to stop and pick a wild flower. Her big smile and those big eyes, she looks up and says with excitement, " Your Momma is an Angel". Yes, yes she is, I say. My Momma is an ANGEL.
