Marvin V. Thomas , 59, of Ablington, Mass, died Wednesday, May 6, 1981 at Brockton Hospital of a heart attack.
Masonic rites were conducted by members of Paul Dean Lodge at noon Saturday in the George L. Copeland and Son Funeral Home in Ablington. Interment was Monday in the National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS with full honors.
He was a native of Clark, Mississippi and also lived in Terry where he attended High School. He was a 31 -year veteran of the US Army Air Force and a 32- degree mason. He was a combat veteran of World War II and Vietnam.
Mr. Thomas was discharged from service with honors in 1972 at the Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio. Since 1973 he had been employed by Sun Electric Corp. as zone manager in Kentucky and originally manager in Boston.
Mr Thomas was a member of Corlic St. Andrews Lodge No. 1334 in Coulton, Scotland. He became second degree mason in 1972 and was a member of Oleika Temple Shrine in Lexington, KY. since 1974.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine of Ablingtn, Mass; a daughter, Terri Thomas of Coventy, Conn; a son, Douglas Thomas of Monett, Mo; 2 grandchildren; his parents, Louie J. and Vida Thomas of Jackson, MS; 7 sisters, Myrtis Payne of Biloxi, Myrtis Sours f Jackson, Louvenia Patrick of Terry, Zanie Anderson of Seaside, Calif, Zadie Harrigill of Tunica, Billy Smith of Jackson, and Nancy Breland of Pearl; and a brother, Jewell Thomas of Natchez
