William George Brand Cobb, the son of Amos and Harriette Brand Cobb, was born in West Lulworth, Dorsetshire, England, Oct. 17, 1871. He came to Savannah, when he was two years old.

He was the 11th in a family of 13 children. These have all preceded him in death except for a sister, Mrs. Amy Ralph of Savannah.

Dec. 12, 1894, he married Miss Lena Leota Woodcock, Savannah.

In 1926 he and his wife took a trip to Europe. They went to West Lulworth and visited at the home where he had been born. The house was occupied by relatives. He also visited the small village church where his father and mother had attended church and found his name registered in the records. When he returned home, he purchased an ice cream store which he operated until he retired in 1940.

Mr. and Mrs. Cobb were the parents of two children, Alice and George Cobb, who survive as do a grandson, and three great-grandchildren.

Services were Jan. 28 at the Breit & Hawkins Funeral Home. Rev. J. Fred Presley officiated and interment was in Savannah Cemetery.
