Funeral for R.V. Nelson was held Monday, August 3, 11 a.m., at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Estus L. Hardin officiating.

Burial was in the Johnson Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Nelson died Saturday, August 1, 1998, at Decatur General Hospital.

He was born in Morgan County to Cicero and Eliza Jane Leeth Nelson. Mr. Nelson was a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church and Mount Zion Masonic Lodge No. 542. He was the widower of Cletie Standridge Nelson.

Survivors include one son, Joel Nelson of Moulton; two daughters, Idell Blackwood and Janice Brown, both of Moulton; one brother, Price Nelson of Huntsville; five sisters, Beatrice Gibson of Cullman, Callie Brady of Moulton, Dora Lee Ryan of Decatur, Mary Frances Frye of San Francisco and Ann Lottie Hooper of Franklin, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Nephews were the pallbearers.
