Funeral for the Rev. Estus Luther Hardin, 86, of Moulton will be Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vandon Windsor and Justin Kelsoe officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until service time at the funeral home.

Rev. Hardin, who died Sunday, January 10, 2010, at Country Cottage, was born September 28, 1923, in Colbert County to Arthur and Linnie Hardin. He was a retired Methodist minister and former chaplain of Hartselle American Legion. He was a member of VFW Post 6567. He loved to refinish furniture, antiques, collect stamps and pocket knives. He received a Purple Heart while serving in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1944 to 1946.

Survivors include two sons, Boyd (Barbara) Hardin of Albertville and Harvey Lafarris (Diane) Hardin of Somerville; one daughter, Saraphana H. Bates of Cotaco; family friend, Chee Chee Roberts; two brothers, Edsel Hardin and Eldon Hardin; seven grandchildren, Lacey Bates, Chad Bates, Kami Garrett, Candice Johnson, Chris Hardin, Lisa Brasell and Michael Hardin; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Harold Shelton, Chris Hardin, Chad Bates, Lacey Bates, Terry Wayne Carver and Lynn Hardin.
