Cicero Jackson Nelson was born Monday, August 17, 1885 in Alabama, to William J. Nelson and Sabrina Eli Washburn Nelson. ~ He married Eliza Jane Leeth, a daughter of Bethel K. Leeth and Nancy E. Thompson Leeth. ~ C .J . Nelson

C. J. Nelson, 86, Birmingham, who died Thursday at a local rest home, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church, Revs. C. G. Reding and J. D. Freeman officiating, with burial in Johnson Chapel Cemetery, Guntharp Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include six sons, T. M. Nelson, Birmingham; W. B. Nelson, Moulton; C. J. Nelson, Jr., Danville; R. V. Nelson, Moulton; J. M Nelson, Hartselle, Price Nelson, Huntsville; seven daughters, Mrs. Eroy McCafferty, Decatur; Mrs. Boyd Braswell, Decatur; Mrs. David Gibson, Cullman; Mrs. Claude Brady, Moulton; Mrs. E. O. Ryan. Decatur; Mrs. Walter Frye, San Jose, Calif.; Mrs. J. D. Hopper. Birmingham; a sister, Mrs. Omie Childers; Eva; 39 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers include Bobby Ryan, J. W. Nelson, Harold Gibson, Bill Grady, Dorvan Nelson and Millard Nelson.

The body will remain at the funeral home until services.
