Eliza Jane Leeth Nelson was born Sunday, November 21, 1886 in Marshall County, Alabama, to Bethel L. K. Leeth and Nancy E. Thompson Leeth.

She married Cicero Jackson Nelson, a son of William J. Nelson and Sabrina E. Washburn Nelson.

The children of Eliza and Cicero Nelson are Tillman Matthew Nelson, William Bethel Nelson, Delonia M. Nelson, Charlie Judson Nelson, Roosevelt V. "R.V." Nelson, James Memory "Mem" Nelson, Sr., Gracie Rubye Royer McCafferty, Macie L. Braswell, Beatrice Gibson, Callie Louella Brady, Dora Lee Ryan, Mary Frances Frye, Ann Lottie Hooper and Price Irvin Nelson.

Mrs. Eliza Nelson

Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza Jane Nelson, 83, Birmingham, who died Thursday morning at a Birmingham hospital, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Shady Grove Church, Revs. C. G. Reding, Jack Freeman and A. L. Lee officiating.

Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery, Guntharp Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include the widower, C. J. Nelson, Birmingham; six sons, T. M. Nelson, Birmingham; W. B. Nelson, Moulton; C. J. Nelson Jr., Danville; R. V. Nelson, Moulton; J. M. Nelson, Decatur; and Price Nelson, Huntsville; seven daughters, Mrs. Gracie N. Royer, and Mrs. Boyd Braswell, both of Decatur; Mrs. David Gibson, Cullman; Mrs. Claude Grady, Moulton; Mrs. E. O Ryan, Decatur; Mrs. Walter Frye, San Jose, California; Mrs. J. D. Hopper, Birmingham; 39 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and three half-sisters; and five half-brothers.

Pallbearers will be Dorvan Nelson, James Royer, William Brady, Jack Nelson, Bobby Ryan and Horace Nelson.

The body will be taken in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Boyd Braswell, 1701 Westmeade St., SW, where it will remain until time for service.
