John W. Adams Dies in Dallas
Mr. John Wood Adams, 73 years old, died Sunday at his home in Dallas, Texas, his death following a long illness. Funeral services will be held in Dallas at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and interment will be in the cemetery there.
Mr. Adams was born in the Clio community of Iredell County, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Adams. He spent his youth in this county, going to Texas more than forty years
ago where he bad since made his home.
He was married to Miss Isabel Herren of Texas and they raised a family of eight children.
Mrs. Adams died in December, 1945, following an automobile accident.
The eight children are John Wood Adams of Hobbs, New Mexico; Rex Adams of Durant, Oklahoma; Paul Adams in Army service; Mrs., M. J. Dennehy, Misses Mildred and Agnes
Adams, Messrs Mark and William Adams of Dallas. Two sisters survive, Mrs. W. C. Wooten, of Route 2 and Miss Mattie Adams of Statesville.
Mr. Adams was home about four years ago. He joined the Clio Presbyterian church in boyhood and he visited there and among the neighbors of the community when he was home.
