Mrs Margaret Owen Blaylock, 32, wife of Louis W Blaylock and native of Dallas County, died unexpectedly at 8:20 p.m. Thursday at her home, 3301 Euclid Avenue, Highland Park.
Mrs Blaylock was born Dec 30, 1881 at Wilmer, the daughter of the Rev George W Owens and Mrs Alice Apperson Owens.
She was a graduate of old Oak Cliff High School and Kidd-Key College and Conservatory, Sherman. While a student at the latter institutin she won first prize with a painting of a cotton stalk that was exhibited at the State Fair of
Texas. She had been a member of the Methodist church all of her life. She was a director of the George W Owens Lumber Company, which was founded by her father.
On August 5,1905, at Colorado Springs, Colo., she was married to Mr Blaylock, who is a son of the late Mayor Louis Blaylock.
Surviving her are her husband, three sons, Louis Owens Blaylock, Lloyd Blaylock and George Darton Blaylock, four daughters, Mrs O P Walcott,* Miss Margaret Irene Blaylock,
Miss Alice Anna Blaylock and Miss Patsy Caroline Blaylock; three brothers, J Thomas Owens, Everett S Owens and George W Owens; two sisters, Mrs Lawrence Diamond and Mrs R S
Spurgin, and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Friday at the Highland Park Methodist Church by Bishop John M Moore and Dr Umphrey Lee. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dr Richard Smith, Ben Owens Spurgin, Lawrence O Diamond, Sam Johnson, George Read Spurgin, Dr W D Jones, Brown Webster and Dr B F Hambleton.
