Joseph Becker Funeral Today
Dies Sunday Night After Long Illness

ST. HELENA---Funeral services for Joseph Becker, sr., 86, who died Sunday evening at Sacred Heart hospital after a lingering illness were held this morning (Thursday) at 10 o'clock from Immaculate Conception church with Rev. Ernest Halemba officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of Kabeiseman-Nelson.

Six grandsons of Mr. Becker served as pallbearers. They were Lawrence, Vernon, Odilo and Xavier Becker of St. Helena; Donovan Sudbeck of Hartington, and Harvey Bonertz of Fordyce.

Mr. Becker had been a resident of the St. Helena community for many years.

He was married to Elizabeth Klug in 1890.

He is survived by eight children, Mrs. Rudolph (Lucena) Schulte of Fordyce, Mrs. Gregory Sudbeck of Hartington, Art, Fred and Arnold of St. Helena, Alphonse and Edgar of Hartington and Ray of Eagle Butte, S. D.

His wife, a daughter, Mrs. Ed. (Elsie) Bonertz, and a son, Gilbert, killed in World War II, preceded him in death.
