He was a blacksmith. He died of pneumonia.

Married 1st to Johanna Christensen.
Married 2nd to Jane Brown Moffatt on 27th March 1895 in Provo, UT. They had 5 children. Florence Carter King, Harold Carter, Ralph Moffat Carter, James Wylie Carter and Charles A. Carter.

DEATH DATE: Some sources have his death date as 15 November 1921 but I used the date on the death certificate and the burial record.
