Daniel Ervin Alberts was the eighth of twelve children born to James Earl Alberts and Phalby Sara Copper. He and his brothers and sisters grew up in Lee county on their parents peanut farm. All the children helped with the peanut farm. Alberts' peanuts and peanut brittle were famous in Central Texas. In 1942 he joined the US Army and served in WWII. When he returned in 1945 he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Evaline Bess Moore. They were divorced in 1947. One son, Fred, was born to this union. In 1950 he married Novella Gates in Austin Texas. They had a son, Earnest Alberts, born the next year. Novella died in 1953 during childbirth. Dan married again in 1960 to Antonie Zetta Cox. He called her Zettie Bee. They had no children. They made their home in Dime Box. Zettie died in 1980. Dan continued to make his home in the same area of Texas he had grown up in. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Earl Alberts and Phalby Sara Alberts, his wives, Novella and Zettie Bee, his brothers, James Jr., Fred, Chatman, Morty Buster, Henry Lee, and Amos, and his sisters Mary, Ursula, Minerva, and Priscilla. He leaves to mourn his passing his sons Fred, Ernest, his brother Moses, many neices, nephews, and cousins.
