Daisy Summers

Services were held Saturday, May 3 at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel, Fort Dodge, for Mrs. Daisy Summers, 72, of Rolfe, who died Tuesday, April 29 at University Hospitals, Iowa City. The Rev. Otis McQuary officiated at the service.

Daisy Harris was born at Surgoinsville, Tenn., and moved to Waverly, Ill., with her family as a young gir. She attended Waverly schools and later moved to Springfield, Ill., where she made her home. In September 1950, she married William Summers at Houston, Texas. The couple moved to Los Angeles, Calif., in 1956, and to Liberal, Mo., in 1972. Following Mr. Summers retirement in 1977, the couple moved to Rolfe. Mr. Summers passed away in 1984.

Survivors include her stepsons, Richard Summers, LaVerne, Calif., William Summers, Huntington Beach, Calif.; five grandchildren; brothers, James Harris, Venice, Fla., Wyman Harris, Bossier City, La., Randall Harris, St. Roberts, Mo., Floyd Harris, Los Angles, Calif., Robert Harris, Champaign, Ill., Paul Harris, Springfield, Ill.; sisters, Mrs. Franklin (Louise) Brunk and Mrs. John E. (Mildred) Johnston, both of Springfield, Ill., Mrs. Jean Gill, Southgate, Calif., and Mrs. Harvey (Twila) Walton, Virginia, Ill.
