Twila Mae Walton, 94, of Virginia, IL died July 6, 2021, at Jacksonville Skilled Nursing in Jacksonville.

She was born March 12, 1927, one of twelve children to James Riley and Lula Belle Kersey Harris. She married Harvey William Walton on July 4, 1946, in Arenzville, and he preceded her in death on December 12, 2009.

Twila is survived by three children, James Lynn (wife Murell Ann) Walton of Jackson, MS, Lynda L. (husband Jim, deceased) Long of Milford, IA, and Harvey Timothy (wife Elizabeth) Walton of Virginia; five grandchildren, Tressy Cobren, Tammy Sue Hudson, Shawn Lynn Walton, Michelle Beard (husband George B. Bley II) Bley, and William Christopher (wife Amanda) Walton; two brothers, Paul Harris and Robert Harris; and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Daisy Harris Summers, James Harris, Louise Harris Brunk, Mildred A. Harris Johnston, Wyman Truman Harris, Brite Randall Harris, Floyd F. Harris, Iva Jean "Boots" Harris, and Willard Francis Harris in infancy; and son-in-law, James Long.

Mrs. Walton attended Feitschans Elementary School in Springfield. She was a dedicated wife and mother, who enjoyed flower gardening, birdwatching, family reunions, and afternoon coffee with friends. Twila will be missed by all.

A graveside memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia.
