William Worthy Blevins, 78, of Wittensville, died Thursday, March 7, after an extended illness. The Johnson County native was the son of the late Elisha Blevins and Mrs. Lizzie Craft Blevins, who survives, and was born February 17, 1896. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linnie Mae Stamper Blevins, on December 2, 1967. Surviving in addition to his mother are five sons, Bruce of South Salem, OH, George of Ashland, Ottie of Wittensville, Harry of Paintsville and Jimmy of St. Mary's, OH, four daughters, Lula Adkins of Ashland, Ella Horne and Bonnie Webb, both of Wabash, IN and Jerry Tackett of Staffordsville, three sisters, Mrs. Beechie McKenzie, Mrs. Leah Colvin and Mrs. Shirley King, all of Staffordsville, three brothers, Judge Blevins of Paintsville, Wayne Blevins of Sitka and Shoppel Blevins of Tampa, FL, 23 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 9, in the Enterprise Baptist church at Kerz, with Reverends Ellis Hamilton, Bruce Daniel and Harold Salyer officiating. Burial was in the Jaynes Cemetery at Staffordsville with arrangements under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
