Shoppel Blevins, 60, died Sunday, April 2, at Paintsville Hospital after a sudden illness. Mr. Blevins was born in Johnson County, February 7, 1918, the son of Elisha Sr. and Sara Elizabeth Craft Blevins. He was a resident of Paintsville, a member of the Little Mud Lick Freewill Baptist Church, and was operator of Blevins Trucking. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Curry Blevins, a step son, Casper Lewis Sears, Jr., Belleville, MI; a daughter, Margaret Lyon Sublett, Paintsville, two step daughters, Jeri Blevins, Ashland and Kathleen Cook, Belleville, MI; two brothers, Wayne Blevins, Paintsville, and Elisha Blevins, Jr., Staffordsville; three sisters, Beechie McKenzie, Leah Colvin, and Shirley King, all of Staffordsville; and 19 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, April 5, at 1 p.m. in the Staffordsville Freewill Baptist Church with Reverends James Crider and John Frank Ratliff officiating. Burial will be in the Staffordsville Cemetery with Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements.
