Wilhelm Krieg came to the United States with his parents and siblings, arriving at Castle Garden, Port of New York, 16 April 1881 on the steamship "W. A. Schotlen". He married Mary Sophia Rebecca "Becky" Wilhelm 3 March 1887 in Huntington County, Indiana with the Rev. Charles M. Schaaf officiating. He farmed the 40 acres that his wife inherited from her father, Jakob Wilhelm. Will and Becky lived all their married life on the Indiana farm except for five years when they homesteaded 160 acres near Marella, Cimarron County, Oklahoma and later moved to Texhoma, Texas County, Oklahoma where they owned a meat market. They then moved back to Lancaster Township, Huntington County, Indiana where their friends and family lived.
