He died 29 November 1904 at the Longcliff Asylum, Cass County, Indiana, age 34 years 4 months 9 days, and was buried at Lancaster Cemetery, Lancaster Township, Huntington County, Indiana. He had been an inmate at the asylum for eight years. He had become mentally unbalanced over religious affairs and never recovered.
