HARRY WILSON STOOPS, aged 73, died suddenly at 2 o'clock this morning at his home near Five Forks, Waynesboro R. R. 2. He had been in ill health lock this morning at his home near Five Forks, Waynesboro
R. R. 2. He had been in ill health suffering from asthma for the past 30 years.
He had been unable to work for the past two years due to a heart condition and asthma.
He was born at Roadside, the son of Samuel and Julia(Reese) Stoops. He had lived his entire life in Waynesboro and vicinity. He learned his trade as a coremaker at the Geiser Company and was employed in the local shops. His last employment was at the Wood-Embly Company.
Surviving are his wife, Daisy M. Sheffler Stoops, and the following children, Harry Wayne Stoops, Chambersburg; Ethel Grace Stoops, Hamburg; Barr Stoops, Waynesboro R. R. 4; Mrs. Wayne Cluck of York, Ralph L. and Mrs. Merle Sprenkle of Waynesboro; Harry M., Waynesboro R. R. 2; Mrs. Archie Gonder, Rouzerville; Mrs.Willard Widmer, Mont Alto; Robert, Juanit, and Doris Patricia, at home; three step-children, Raymond Hardy, Cascade; Mrs. Archie Helman, Waynesboro; Mrs. Merle Tracey, Smithsburg R. R. 1; 23 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, John Stoops, Waynesboro R. R. 1.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 from his late home in charge of the Rev. H. M. Stover. Interment will be in Burns Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday evening from 7 until 9 o'clock.
