She was the wife of the late Charles "Chuck" Titus who preceded her in death on April 4, 1990. They wed at St. Michael's Church in Ridge on January 28, 1950.
Born in Scotland, MD on July 18, 1926, the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Cecilia King Ridgell.
She attended St. Michael's Elementary School, graduated St. Michael?s High School Class of 1944 and St. Mary's Seminary Junior College in 1949. She worked the majority of her 30 years of civil service for the Public Works Department, Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, MD with retirement in 1984.
She was an active member of St. Michael's Parish and a member of their Ladies of Charity. She supported St. Michael's School for years and especially loved working at their hot lunch program. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Her favorite pastimes were crabbing, playing cards and talking on the phone with family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph C. Titus of St. Inigoes and Thomas A. Titus of Baltimore, MD, daughters-in-law, Frances Bean Titus and Cynthia Walsh Titus, four grandchildren, Jessica, Marsha Austin and Lindsey Titus. Her siblings, Thomas G. Ridgell of Mechanicsville, Catherine Dean, Susanna Wolfe, Grace Pratt and George Ridgell of Scotland, MD Clara Norris of Leonardtown, MD Eleanor Tippett of Compton, MD and James "Gus" Ridgell of Nashville, TN.
Her brother Leslie Ridgell preceded her in death in 1999.
Friends gathered on Tuesday, September 10, 2002 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Ridge, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at 11:00 am at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Father Joseph Billy Bayne presided and Father Maurice O'Connell will be the Concelebrant.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Titus will be Austin Titus, Rocky Woodburn, Pat Woodburn, Ray Raley, Dan Raley and Bruce Raley. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Ridge Volunteer Fire Department.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad or the Msgr. John Peacock Scholarship Fund, St. Michaels School.
