Mrs. Grace Ridgell Pratt died peacefully at her Scotland Beach home on November 29, 2007.
Born November 28, 1934, in Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Austin and Cecilia King Ridgell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edwin Louis Pratt, Sr. Grace and Ed were married November 7, 1952, in Ridge, MD at St. Michael's church.
She is survived by her 7 children, Debbie Siegel of Honolulu, HI, Edwin L. Pratt Jr. and his wife Linda of Colorado Springs, CO, James "Marty" Pratt and his wife Tina, of Church Hill, MD, Jo Ellen Pratt and her husband William, of Great Mills, MD, Jackie Pratt and his wife Cindy, of Leonardtown, MD, Peggy Pratt and her husband Robert Roberts, of Ridge, MD, and Grace "Girl" Pratt, and her husband Joe Richardson of Hacks Neck, VA. Grace was also blessed with 19 wonderful and much loved grandchildren, Moses and Noell Siegel, Colton, Bailey, Henry, George, Ellie Pratt, Sierra and Shane Pratt, Jeffrey Ratliff and Marianne Pratt, Bryan, Wade, Kayla, and Evan Pratt, Iris and Sean Roberts, and Macy and Tanner Richardson. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Brenndin Siegel, Riley and Mia Peacock, and Ryan, Lorelei, and newborn Cian Ratliff.
She is survived by her siblings, Catherine Dean, Thomas ‘Brother' Ridgell, Susanna Wolf, Eleanor Tippet, Clara Norris, and George Ridgell. Grace was preceded in death by her sister Cecilia "Flip" Titus and brothers, James Austin "Gus" Ridgell, and Curtis Leslie "Country" Ridgell.
Grace was a member of St. Michael's Church in Ridge and graduated from St. Michaels School.
She was known for her delicious cakes, her sunny smile, and her love of her home and her ‘friends'. Grace loved walking, playing cards, and searching for periwinkles on the beach. She always made time for her friends and family and was loved by all.
Visitation will be at St. Michael's Church in Ridge, Maryland on Sunday, December 2, 2007 from 2 PM through 5 PM, with a Life Celebration and Prayers offered at 4 PM.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 3, 2007, 10 AM, at St. Michael's Church with Fr. Joseph Bayne and Fr. Maurice O'Connell officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Albertsen, Tony Cacimano, Jimmy Ridgell, Herbie McKay, Robbie Wood, Ricky Yeatman and Ronnie Yeatman.Interment will be private.
A gathering for friends and family will be held at the Ridge Volunteer Fire House following the 10 AM mass.
