Eleanor M. Harter Zollinger, 93, went home to her loving Savior's arms Friday, November 16, 2007 at the home of her son, Joe Brian Zollinger and daughter-in-law Ruth in Bryson City, North Carolina. She was the loving wife of the late August B. Zollinger of Fort Wayne, Indiana. They were married for 65 years. Eleanor was born in Wolf Lake, Indiana and was a resident of Fort Wayne for most of her life. She was the daughter of Howard Henry Harter and Mary Etta Zumbrun Harter of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her siblings; Hobart Emil Harter, Golda Gertrude Harter Keener, Perry Ray Harter, Herman Dewitte Harter, Jesse Howard Harter, Christian Basil Harter, Clifford Vaughn Harter, Ernest Walford Harter, Juanita Blanche Harter York, Ross Everett Harter, and Keith Gale Harter, and one grandson, Chad Linker. She retired from ARA at American Hoist in Fort Wayne and taught Child Evangelism for many years and supported Youth for Christ and OMS Mission. Surviving are her son, Joe Bryan Zollinger and wife, Ruth Simonds Zolling of Bryson City, North Carolina; two daughters; Debbie Linker and husband Stanley of Grapevine, Texas, and Rachel Best Harrington and husband Steve of Washington state; eight grand-sons; Jeremy and Joel Linker of Texas, Bryan and Joe Zollinger of North Carolina, Graham Best of California, Arron Best of Pennsylvania, and Peter and Ross Harrington of Washington state; 13 great-grandchildren; Benjamin, Danniel, Nicholas and Kristen Zollinger; Brandyn and Kayden Zollinger; Brice and Emma Linker; brother Robert Lee Harter of Fort Wayne; and many nieces and nephews. She will be interred to Marriam Cemetery in Marriam, Indiana. There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. on December 9, 2007 at the Till Road Christian Center, Till Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to Gideon's International at the Till Road Christian Center in Fort Wayne. Crisp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
