Thomas Jacob Croyle, age 57, of the Steim Hotel, Kittanning, drowned Sunday in the Allegheny River near Manorville. His body was discovered there yesterday. He was a laborer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kittanning. Born December 17, 1913 in Templeton, He was the son of Mrs. Nora (Lasher) Croyle of Kittanning RD 6 and the late Samuel Croyle. He is survived by his mother, four sons, Thomas Jr, and Charles M., both of Kittanning RD 6, Richard D. of Ford City and Robert D. of Willoughby, Ohio; six daughters, Mrs. George (Peggy Louise) Ramer and Miss Marilyn Sue Croyle, both of Willoughby, Ohio, Mrs. Samuel (Shirley M.) Chestnut of McGrann, Mrs. David (Linda) Turpin of Fayetteville, N.C., Mrs. Frank (Patty Jane) Lytle and Miss Ruth Ann Croyle of Kittanning RD 2; one Brother, Floyd of Kittanning MR 10, four sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Margaret) Schaub and Mrs. Raymond (Mable) Schaub, both of Adrian RD 1, Mrs. James (Mary) Richardson of Kittanning and Mrs. Harry (Ruth) Duncan of Kittanning RD 6. CROYLE – Friends of Thomas Jacob Croyle who died June 13, 1971 will be received after 7 this evening in the Merwin – Kennedy Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Daniel P. Abrams of Kittanning First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Croyle Cemetery. Arrangements by Merwin – Kennedy.
