Floyd D. Croyle Sr., 86, of Kittanning, died Saturday May 26, 2012, at Saxony Health Center in Saxonburg. He was born Dec. 19, 1925, in Kittanning, a son of the late Samuel Croyle and Nora (Leasure) Croyle. He retired after 40 years from J.K. Davison Sand and Gravel. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Kittanning, the Odd Fellows and was a founding member of East Franklin Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed woodworking and hunting and was a member of several bowling leagues. He was very active in coaching Little League and American Legion Baseball in the Kittanning area. Survivors include his daughters, Beverly J. (Joseph) Clever, of Kittanning, and Janice (David) Benigni, of Freeport; son, Floyd D. (Pamela) Croyle, of Sarver; granddaughter, Jennifer L. Clever, Wilmington, Del.; grandsons, Joseph B. (Beth) Clever III, of Butler, David (Heather) Benigni, of Freeport, and Jonathan Benigni, of Freeport; and two great-grandchildren, Sara N. Clever and Callie E. Benigni. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean A. Croyle, in 2008; grandson, Christopher Clever; a brother, Thomas Croyle; and four sisters, Margaret Schaub, Mabel Schaub, Mary Richardson and Ruth Duncan. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME in Kittanning. Additional visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Kittanning with the Rev. A. David Menelly officiating. Interment in Kittanning Cemetery.
