Bessie Cecilia Quinn
Bessie Quinn, 76, of Springhill, passed away at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Saturday, November 10, 2018. Born in Springhill, Bessie was a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Chambers) Bird.
Bessie had worked with Oxford Frozen Foods for thirty-one years. She enjoyed baking, going to Bingo and playing cards. She faithfully walked to the Gas Bar for her scratch tickets. Bessie was particularly fond of spending time at the beach, going out with friends, and being with her family.
Bessie will sadly missed by her children, Mary Quinn of BC, Elizabeth "Liz" Quinn of Springhill and a son, Ricky Quinn of Springhill Junction; six grandchildren, Tasha Spence, Lucas Spence, Cindy Herrett, John Herrett, Alyssa Quinn and Connor Quinn; three great grandchildren; brothers, Charles, Richard, John, Joseph, Larry and David; sisters, Joan and Nancy, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of fifty-five years, Alfred "Alfie" Quinn in October; brothers, James, Raymond and William, and sisters, Sylvia, Rosie Mary and Rosie Rebecca and Rebecca.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361). A graveside service will be held at the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 1 pm.
If so desired, the family would appreciate donations made to the funeral home to assist in funeral expenses and the future purchase of a headstone in memory of Bessie and Alfie.
