She is survived by her second husband of 30 years, David Johnson; sons, Donald, Halifax, Charles (Rose), Salmon River, Carl, Truro, Timothy, Cape Breton; daughters, Elizabeth Dunphy and Penny Hewett, both of Halifax; several brothers; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Carl Richard; sisters, Bessie and Beckie.
No visitation by family request. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, May 1st at 11:00 am, in the Springhill Junction Cemetery, Springhill with Father Charles Offer officiating. Due to Covid-19 and Public Health requirements, a maximum of 250 people will be permitted to attend and masks are required. Please bring your own chair, and practice physical distancing. Donations in memory may be made to the Tim Horton's Children's Camp, Tatamagouche, NS, or to the Colchester SPCA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
