William 'Bill' Peter Knuijt, Jr was born 2 Nov 1925 in Appleton, Wisconsin. He was the 6th child of William P Knuijt and Caroline (nee Huberty).
Bill attended up until Junior year of high school, then enlisted for World War Two. Around this time, he also legally changed his surname from Knuijt to Knight.
Along with his brothers, he served in the US Navy in the Pacific theater.
He returned to the US after his honorable discharge and studied gemology with his brother, Roman. He married Mary Frances Krekovich in 1947 and they had two lovely daughters, as well as an adopted-daughter.
Bill was a voracious reader and kind-hearted soul. He had a positive influence in so many lives, and always emphasized the power of knowledge.
Bill suffered a stroke, and later passed away from cancer only a few months after his wife Mary 29 Dec 2002. He was cremated as per his wishes.
