Rev. Curtis W. Freese, 64, of 908 East Ohio St., died Friday evening as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Valparaiso. The Pastor of Apostolic Church of Valparaiso, he was born on May 22, 1912 in Starke County to Lawrence and Martha (Hays)Freese. A resident of LaPorte since 1909, he moved here from Bluffton, Ind. He was also an employee of Jaymar-Rudy Corp. in Michigan City. He was married on May 30, 1932 in LaPorte to Jeanette Berkowski, who also died in the auto accident. Survivors include one son, Eugene, LaPorte; one daughter, Sharon Freese, LaPorte; two grandchildren; two brothers, Jesse and Clyde Freese, both of LaPorte and three sisters, Mrs. Bernice Logos, Ft. Ogden, Fla., Mrs. Esther Black and Mrs. Lorraine Thomas both of Grand Rapids, Mich. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Apostolic Church in Valparaiso, with Rev. James Bates. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday evening at Haverstock's Chapel and until 10 am Tuesday at the chapel and until the times of services at the church.
