DEATH OF (DOC) LAWRENCE FREESE
Lawrence Freese, of Washington township, was found dead in bed early Sunday morning by his wife. He had been complaining a little for some two months but no one thought that his trouble was serious. He had been in town on Saturday and had eaten a hearty supper and retired at 9:30. Mrs. Freese was awakened by a passing automobile and found her husband dead beside her. Deceased was past 53 years of age; was the father of twelve children, all living; was known as an honest hard working, industrious farmer. He and his family have lived on the W.A. Pierson farm in Washington township for the past three years. He is survived by his wife, twelve children; Melvin, Murriel, Clyde, Mrs. Esther Dickson and Miss Luelle, of LaPorte, Mrs. Alice Shiplock, of Grovertown, Mrs. Irene Schonnebel, of Hamlet, and Berneice, Jesse, Cletus and Clifford and Myrtle all at home. Also one brother and five sisters. Funeral services were conducted from the Eagle Creek church, Tuesday afternoon in charge of Rev. James Lerch and interment was made in Lerch Cemetery.
