Clifford R. (Coot) Freese, 59, of 364 Fairmont road, Kingsford Heights, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the LaPorte hospital following a sudden illness. He was born January 30, 1915 in Starke County Indiana to Lawrence and Martha (Hay) Freese and had lived in this area all of his life. Mr. Freese was an employee of Allis-Chalmers. He was married January 1, 1937 to Margaret Gallo. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union. Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Truman (Gloria) Helt of LaPorte, two sons, William R. Freese of LaPorte, Raymond Alan Freese, at home, nine grandchildren, three brothers, Jesse Freese, Sr., Clyde Freese, Rev. Curtis Freese all of LaPorte, and three sisters, Mrs. Bernice Logos of Fort Ogdon, Florida, Mrs. Ester Black, and Mrs. Lorriane Thomas, both of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Haverstock Chapel with Rev. Chester P. Zurawiec officiating.
