Mrs. Jeanette Freese, 62, of 908 E. Ohio St., was pronounced dead at Porter Memorial Hospital, Valparaiso, Friday night following an auto accident that occurred near there. Mrs. Freese, wife of the Rev. Curtis Freese of LaPorte, was born on Jan. 6, 1914 in Chicago to John and Valerie (Ordinski) Berkowski. She had lived in LaPorte since 1956, coming here from Bluffton. She was married to Curtis Freese on May 30, 1932 in LaPorte. Mrs. Freese belonged to the Apostolic Church in Valparaiso where her husband served as pastor. Survivors include one son, Eugene of LaPorte; one daughter, Miss Sharon Freese, LaPorte; two grandchildren, three brothers, Edmund Berk of LaPorte; Herman Berkowski, LaPorte and Louis Berkowski, Flint, Mich. A double funeral service for Mrs. Freese and her husband, who was killed in the accident, will be held at 1 pm Tuesday at the Apostolic Church in Valparaiso. Rev. James Bates will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at the Haverstock Funeral Home Sunday evening and until 10 am Tuesday at the Haverstock Chapel and from 11 am to time of the services Tuesday at the church in Valparaiso.
