Jan 29, Funeral rites for Rollo Brightenstine of Healdsburg were held Wednesday afternoon at the Baptist Church. Rev. Gray preached the serman and took as his text, JOHN 11: 25-26. The Choir was Messrs. Will and Sam Gray, and Mesdames Alice Long and Nellie Ham, with Mrs. Amy Redwine at the piano. Pallbears were Messrs. Mervin and George Gravier, Asa Grist, Frank Brown, Byron Hurt, and Whit Ham. Mr. Brightenstine had lived in this vicinity since a lad, until he went to Healdsburg to make his home some years ago. He was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Theodore Brightenstine, and was born in Sonoma County December 10, 1887. He was married to Mrs. Carrie Peterfish July 3, 1920. He was one of eleven children, all of whom except one sister, Mrs. Ethel White, survive. They are: John, Harvey, Ivan and Frank Brightenstine all of Covelo, Elden Brighenstine of San Dieago, Mrs. Nettie Ciancio and Mrs. Mabel Burnham of Ukiah, Mrs. Daisy Reed and Mrs. Vira O'Ferrall of Covelo, his Mother Mrs. Annie Brightenstine, the wife, and a stepson Glen Peterfish, also survive. All relatives were present at the funeral except Elden, who was on a ship sailing for Honolulu at the time.
Rollo had identified himself at the Baptist church in 1915, although he
had for some years been away from Covelo he has many friends here who mourn his passing and extend deep sympathy to the bereaved wife, mother, brothers and sisters.

Healdsburg two days earlier, almost without warning, from a sudden attack of
appendicitus.

Rollo Brightenstine, of Healdsburg, former resident of Covelo, died in the General hospital in the Sonoma county city, Saturday.
Brightenstine was raised in the Round Vally section, living there since childhood. He has hosts of friends who mourn his sudden passing.
He is survived by his wife and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. F. Reed, of Covelo; Mrs. Charles Ciancio, of Ukiah; Mrs. Vira O'Ferrall, MRs. Albert Burnham, Harvey Brightenstine, Ivan Brightenstine andFrank Brightenstine.
The deceased was buried in Covelo Wednesday.
