Nellie graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Salt City Business College. She spent her career working in the banking industry. Nellie was a member of 10th Avenue United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy in life came from spending time with her family.
On November 7, 1954, Nellie married Cecil O. Bush in Hutchinson. They shared 65 years of marriage. He survives.
Also surviving are: daughter, Rhonda Ford, Hutchinson; grandchildren, Jennifer Cushenbery (Travy), Hutchinson, Travis Ford (Jessica), Maumelle, AR; great-grandchildren, Tayvin Cushenbery, Kyleigh, Sean, and Lakyn Ford; sisters, Mae Smith and Marie Hawkins, both of Hutchinson; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Brian Bush; four brother: Lester, Robert, Otes and Ray Louis and three sisters: Vera Pritchett, Lavina Bradford and Leveta Garner.. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2020, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
