Ray lived in Payne County, Oklahoma, Hutchinson, Copeland and Greensburg, Kansas since 1967. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1946 and served in the U. S. Army from 1948-1951 with Occupational Forces in Germany and three years following in Active Reserves.
Ray was the manager of Farmers Grain Supply, Greensburg, for several years and later was an owner/operator as an Independent Trucker hauling grain. He was a member of the Optimist Club and the Pratt Saddle Club, both of Pratt and the Greensburg Lions Club and attended the Greensburg Mennonite Church.
On June 3, 1951 Ray married Avanel E. Hardwick in Hutchinson. She survives. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Alan Ray Allison, three brothers Robert, Lester and Otes, and two sisters Vera Pritchett and LaVina Bradford.
Funeral service and celebration of Ray's life will be held 10:30am Thursday, June 26, 2014, in the Greensburg Mennonite Church, Greensburg, with Jeffrey D. Blackburn officiating. A visitation will be held 5-7pm Wednesday at Fleener Funeral Home, Greensburg. Memorials are suggested to South Wind Hospice House, Pratt, in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S. Main St., Greensburg, Kansas.
