BLACKSBURG - Elsie Eugene Batchler Peterson, 89, died Saturday, March 11, 2006, at her residence.

She was born in Blacksburg, SC and was the widow of Albert Lee Peterson Sr. and was the daughter of James A. Batchler and Unah Edith Byars Batchler.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was retired from textiles.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Peterson was preceded in death by sisters, Leatha Moss, Liane Isler, Ollie Lanier, Thelma Philbeck, Madeline Upchurch and Unah Batchler; and brothers, Milledge Batchler and Buddy Batchler.
