A native of Blacksburg, she was a retired textile employee and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Alexander and Unah Byars Batchler; and her husband, Aydlotte Randolph Philbeck.
She is survived by a daughterm Brenda Philbeck Putman of Blacksburg; a granddaughter, Rene Putman and husband, Terry Wray, of Shelby; a grandson, Gregory Scott Putman of Gaffney; three great-grandchildren; a brother, James O. Batchler of Blacksburg; and four sisters, Flossie Allen of Gaffney and Wilma White, Elsie Peterson and Catherine Borders, all of Blacksburg.
Burial will follow in Clingman Memorial Gardens.
