Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Andrew "Huey" Arnaud, Sr., age 81, who passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 at his residence in Carencro.

Mr. Huey passed away after a short battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family.

Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Church Mausoleum in Carencro.

Rev. Nicholas Dupre will officiate at the services. Readers will be Brodie Richard, Lauren Mouton and Summer Bressoud. Gift bearers will be Toni Huval, Channa Faling and Michelle Champagne.

Music selections will be provided by Karen Broussard. The songs will be Amazing Grace, Hail Mary Gentle Woman, Here I Am Lord, One Bread, One Body, and Just a Closer Walk With Thee.

Huey, born May 19, 1937, was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro. A devout Catholic, Mr. Arnaud was a very active parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church and Perpetual Adoration Chapel where he was an hourly coordinator and an adorer from the beginning in 1984. He was a member of the Bonne Mart Society, St. Philomena Rosary Group, Sacred Heart Society and made his Living Cursillo #194. Huey was a Master plumber and a member of the Plumber & Steamfitters Local #106. He retired from Building Code Inspection Services where he was a Plumbing Inspector. He adored spending time with his family and enjoyed cooking for the whole crew. Huey was always eager to help anyone in need. Sharing his experiences in life, he influenced many young men who looked up to him as a mentor and plumbing coach.

Now that his journey here on earth has ended, he is now with his Lord Jesus Christ and reunited with the love of his life, his wife Lucy of fifty-eight years.

He leaves behind his thirteen children, Becky Pomier and her husband, John, Andy Arnaud, Jr. and his wife, Clara, Ronni Tabor and her husband, Bryan, Toni Huval and her husband, Fran, Channa Faling and her husband, Martin, Michelle Champagne and her husband, Darrel, Carlos Arnaud and his wife, Cheryl, Charlotte Hukins and her husband, Colin, Jamie Arnaud and his wife, Sonia, Ricky Arnaud and his wife, Gina, Joey Arnaud, Billy Arnaud and his wife, Jayna, and Thomas Arnaud and his wife, Tania; one sister, Priscilla Fontes and her husband, David, and one brother, John L. Arnaud, Sr.; thirty eight grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Huey is preceded in death by his wife Lucy Valdez Arnaud, his parents, Edwin Arnaud, Sr. and the former Florida Marie Badeaux; two brothers, Edwin Louis Arnaud, Jr. and Joseph Jerry Arnaud; four sisters, Francis Quebedeaux, Edna Mae Cormier, Margaret Mary Arnaud and Elizabeth Ann Trahan; and one great grandson, Andrew Huey Arnaud, IV.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home by his Cursillo Brothers.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.

Pallbearers will be his seven sons, Andy Arnaud, Carlos Arnaud, Jamie Arnaud, Ricky Arnaud, Joey Arnaud, Billy Arnaud and Thomas Arnaud.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to NSI Hospice of Lafayette, Melanie Landry (acupuncture) and many family and friends for the excellent care they gave their Dad.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Curisllo Center in memory of Andrew "Huey" Arnaud and his living Cursillo #194. Please mail donations to Prairie Rhonde Cursillo Center, 3650 LA 104, Opelousas, LA 70570.
