Sarah was daughter of William and Mary Bryan/Bryant. Said to be part Cherokee. Buried next to husband Oliver Stout with double stone.

Mullinville Tribune, June 3, 1909. "Sarah Jane Bryan was born in Kentucky, February 28, 1851, and died at Mullinville, Kansas, May 31, 1909, age 58 years, 3 months and 2 days. She moved to Illinois, and was there married to Oliver H. Stout, April 28, 1872. To this union were born 6 children, 4 boys and 2 girls, one boy and one girl preceded her to the better land. She united with the United Baptist Church when a girl. She leaves a husband, three sons, and one daughter, one brother and one sister to mourn their loss. The sympathy of this entire community is extended to this bereaved family in this their hour, of sorrow and affliction.."

Kiowa County Signal, June 11, 1909. "The funeral of Mrs. Stout was held Wednesday at the U B church. Interment in the Mullinville cemetery."

We have some contradictions in her obituary because all census records agree that Sarah was born in Tennessee. Also, Oliver's pension records say they were married in Jackson, MO which is in Cape Girardeau County. There is no record of their marriage found so far in either Illinois or MO.
