Charles Plaster

Charles Wesley Plaster, 83, of Raven, Va., died Tuesday night in a Richlands hospital following a long illness. He was born at Swords Creek, Va., a son of the late Henry and Mahalia Fields Plaster.

He was a retired miner, a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local No. 6199, and had been a member of the Pruner Masonic Lodge No. 254 of Honaker, Va., for the past 62 years.

He attended the Raven Assemble of God Church and was the last member of his family.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Martha Horton Plaster of the home; eight daughters, Mrs. Edith Whited of Raven, Mrs. Ruby Rasnake of Doran, Va., Mrs. Frances Hess of Radcliff, Ky., Mrs Ruthie Mallory of Elizabeth Town, Ky., Mrs. Gertrude Woodrum of Galion, Ohio, Mrs. Marie Short of Richlands, Mrs. Jean White of Swords Creek and Mrs. Judy Patton of Cedar Bluff, Va.; three sons, Clinton and Russell Plaster of Galion, and David Plaster of Raven; twenty four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Raven Assembly of God Church with Rev. Dale Holmes and Rev. W.W. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va.

Pallbearers will be William T. Whited, Roger Plaster, Parley Plaster, Michael Lowe, Randy Lowe and Henry Plaster.

Members of the Pruner Lodge will have charge of graveside rites.

The body will remain at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home, Richlands, where friend may call, and will be placed in the church one hour prior to funeral service.
