Janie Elizabeth Hickox, 77, of Waycross died Thursday morning (02-15-07) at her residence after an extended illness.
She was a life long resident of Ware County, daughter of the late Mathew Albritton and Elizabeth Strickland Albritton. She was a dedicated wife and loving mother and was a former member of the Westside Church of God.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years Johnny Hickox of Waycross, Georgia, a son Pastor Andy Hickox, wife Rose of Waycross, Georgia, a daughter Mamie Elizabeth Holland of Waycross, Georgia, three sisters Mamie Sellers of Waycross, Georgia, Amanda Eaton of Blackshear, Georgia, and Judy Aldridge and her husband Walter of Williston, Florida, four grandchildren Michelle Davis, husband Stokes of White Oak, Georgia, Brian Hickox, wife Megan, Donald Holland, wife Brandy all of Jacksonville, Florida, and Rachel Doyle of Hazlehurst, Georgia, three great grandchildren Johnathan Holland of Waycross, Georgia, Carli Jane Holland of Jacksonville, Florida, and Jimmie Clark of Hazlehurst, Georgia, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning (02-17-07) at eleven o'clock in the chapel of the Miles-Odum Funeral Home. Burial will be in High Bluff Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral Home from six until eight o'clock Friday night.
