He was a retired carpenter. He was the son of the late David Arthur and Maggie Lee Harrington Benham.
He was preceded in death by one stepson, Jimmy Lampton; two sisters, Mary Dee Snyder and Mona Louise Benham; and one brother, Paul D. Benham.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Benham; 10 children, Lillian Thomas of Brandenburg, Bonnie Hatmaker of Brandenburg, Janice Pack of Brandenburg, Audrey King of Guston, Margaret L. Brown of Andyville, Ruth Whitman of Vine Grove, Nancye Keen of Louisville, Garland Benham, Jr. of Brandenburg, Johnnie Benham of Vine Grove, and David Howard Benham of Springfield, Ohio; five step-children, Ola Sue King of Guston, Betty Jo Miracle of Louisville, Martel Lampton of Melbourne, Fla., Winifred Martin of Jacksonville, Fla., and Charles K.O. Lampton of Sulphur, La.; two sisters, Catherine Baker of Radcliff, and Mattie Lee McMahan of New Albany, Ind.; three brothers, Gilbert Benham, Robert C. Benham, and James C. Benham, all of Brandenburg; 36 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 15 step grandchildren; and 26 step great grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at the Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Leroy Archibald and Rev. Johnnie Benham officiating. Burial will be at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Jenkins Funeral Home.
