Glade B. Cook

Glade B. Cook was born on Oct. 01, 1931, at his home in Davis Ward to parents Harold Albert Cook and Cora (Slaugh) Cook. He later married, Laverta Sloan, his wife of 67 years, and continued to build his life in the Basin.
Glade's life centered around his family and his strong work ethic. He started working in the Uintah oil fields at an early age. He later helped construct the Hotel Vernal where he also worked as a cook. Among his numerous occupations, he worked for Vernal City and the Uintah County school district at Naples Elementary. When not providing for his family, he enjoyed time with them and friends. Time spent family camping, hunting and fishing were among his greatest memories.
*Glade is survived by his wife, Laverta Sloan Cook; and children: Russ (Cathie); daughter-in-law: Karen; 8 grandchildren; siblings: Dal (Ellen); DeVona T.; Ned (Connie).
Glade is preceded in death by parents, Harold and Cora Cook, children: Greg Cook and Paula Jean Cook; Siblings: Verl Cook (infant); Bulia Pummell, Bud Cook, Rae Clark; Ionia Bird;
Virgie Swain; Glen Cook; Shirley Cook; and Nadean Carpenter.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 11AM at the Glines 7th Ward LDS Chapel (1270 West 1500 South). A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8PM at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Wednesday 9:30-10:45AM at the chapel.
Interment will be in the Vernal Memorial Park.
