She married the late James W. Byrd, the love of her life, on Nov. 19, 1961. James passed away in 2011.
Ionia is survived by her, sister Devonia Timothy; 3 brothers: Glade (LaVerta) Cook, Dall (Ellen) Cook and Ned (Connie) Cook; sisters-in-law: Bette Cook and Carolyn Cook, both of Vernal, and her sweet dog Half-Pint.
She is preceded in death by, her husband; her parents; four sisters: Bulia Pummell; Raie Clark; Vergie Swain and Nadean Carpenter; four brothers: Bud Cook, Glen Cook, Shirley Cook and Veril Cook.
