OBITUARY: MARSHALLTOWN TIMES-REPUBLICAN - TUESDAY - 4 JUNE 1957 - PAGE 3 - COL 1 - MRS. BLASCHKE DIES TUESDAY AT AGE OF 73 - Mrs. Tony Blaschke, 73, 1010 W. Nevada St., died at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday at Mercy Hospital where she was admitted Monday afternoon. She was born May 23, 1884 in Marshall County, daughter of Henry and Augusta Guthrie Arts. She was married in 1904 to Otto Jentzen in Marshalltown and he died in 1926. Her second marriage was to Tony Blaschke in 1948. For a number of years she operated a beauty shop in her home at 9 E. Webster St. Surviving are the widower, two daughters, Mrs. Chauncy Hoover of Ames and Mrs. Clarence Jansen of Marshalltown, nine grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a son, Clifford in 1955, one son in infancy, three daughters and 10 sisters. Mrs. Blaschke was a member of St. Mary's Church, St. Anne's Study Club and St. Elizabeth's Society. The body is at the Avey Funeral Home where St. Elizabeth's Society will recite the Rosary at 3 p.m. Wednesday and the public Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Requiem High Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Church and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
