William Kraft, 49, Route 4, Billings farmer, died Saturday afternoon in a Billings hospital after a short illness.

He was born at Glen Ullin, N.D., Jan. 21, 1918, (The grave marker/tombstone was mistakenly engraved 1919.) He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kraft. He came to the Laurel vicinity in 1940 from Belfry and has farmed near Hesper since that time.

On Oct. 23, 1944 he married Mary Frickel at Red Lodge.

Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Judith Ann, Cynthia Rae and Susan Lynn, all of the family home; seven brothers, Herman of Salem, Ore., Edward, Route 4, Emmanuel of Absarokee, Jacob of Great Falls, Albert of Billings, John of Laurel, and Gottlieb Bruce of Route 4; six sisters, Mrs. Chester Lutgen of Anchorage, Alaska, Mrs. Alec Hergenrider of Belfry, Mrs. Art Jensen of Cortez, Colo., Mrs. Bernie Rasmusson of Polson, Mrs. Frank Anderson of Fort Benton, and Peggy Kraft of 524 S. 31st St.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Laurel Congregational Church, with the Rev. Jack Roth, officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Cemetery.
