Emanuel Kraft, 88, of Billings, formerly of Absarokee, was surrounded by family when he passed away March 19, 2004 at Valley Care Center. He was born on December 10, 1915, in Bluegrass, N.D., the 6th child of Jacob and Ann-Marie Kraft.
He was raised in Belfry, Montana, and married Olga Hergenrider on December 19, 1937, in Belfry. Together they had four sons, Elmer, Ed, Dan and Larry.

Emanuel and Olga lived in Absarokee for 50 years. Emanuel ranched in Absarokee, then later worked for the Absarokee school system. He and Olga moved to Billings in 1998. Emanuel loved taking care of his beloved garden and spending time in his saw sharpening shop.

He is survived by his three sons and their wives, Elmer and Beverly of Bigarm, Ed and Peg of Billings, and Dan, also of Billings; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; his two brothers, Albert and Bruce (Boots) and his sister, Peggy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Olga; his son, Larry; seven brothers, Henry, John, Herman, Bill, Jake, John and Ed, and six sisters, Pauline, Frieda, Arma, Cecelia, Alice, and Katherine.
Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 23, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Absarokee. Interment will follow at the Rosebud Cemetery.
