Obituary:
ROBERT W. EDELBLUTE, 89, of 602 Warm Springs Ave., Huntingdon, died at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 1979, at the office of his doctor. Death was unexpected. Born March 2, 1890, in Huntingdon, he was the the son of John H. and Harriet (Briggs) Edelblute. He was united in marriage to Ruth M. Miller on Aug. 25, 1910, at the First United Methodist Church parsonage, Huntingdon. She preceded him in death on Nov. 16, 1957. He is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Herbert (Harriet) Feather, Huntingdon; Mrs. Raymond (Sylvia) Mitchell, Huntingdon R.D. 2, and Mrs. James (Dorothy) Myers, Alexandria. One infant son preceded him in death. Nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren survive. Three brothers and six sisters preceded him in death. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Mr. Edelblute was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church, Huntingdon, and a member of the men's Sunday school class of that church. He was a member and past noble of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Juniata Lodge No. 117, Huntingdon; a member of the Lady Della Rebekah Lodge No. 75, Huntingdon; a member of and past master of the Donation Grange, No. 330. He most recently held the office of steward at the grange, and was a seventh degree Granger. He was a member of the Golden Age Club, Huntingdon. First employed as a streetcar conductor in Huntingdon, he was also employed by E.A. Beaver Co., Mount Union, and later by the M.F. Mcnight Trucking Co., Huntingdon. In 1957, he retired. Educated in Huntingdon public schools, he had spent his entire life in the Huntingdon area. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Rev. Harry E. Smyser officiating. Interment will be made in the Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 7 p.m. on Thursday, and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service on Friday.
