FUNERAL FOR MRS. LETTIE L. MATHIS WILL BE TOMORROW
Mrs. Lettie L. Mathis, 77, died Saturday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Mae Gipson, of Rt. 3, Macon. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at the Atlanta Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Steele Cemetery.
The body is at the Hutton Funeral Home, where it will lie in state until the hour of service.
Mrs. Mathis was born Aug. 17, 1881 in Macon County, the daughter of Charles Isaac and Cynthia Ann (Franker) Hatfield. She was married on Sept. 18, 1901 to J.W. Mathis in Macon.
Mrs. Mathis was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Orva Faught and Mrs. Anna Mae Gipson of Macon; three sons, Famis Mathis of Rockford, Illinois, Clarence Mathis of Dubuque, Iowa, and Junior Mathis of Macon; four sisters, Mrs. Nannie Nash, Mrs. Dora Thurman, and Mrs. Bea Bealmer of Atlanta, and Mrs. Marie McIvor of San Jose, California; two brothers, Ed Hatfield of Marceline, and Herldon Hatfield of Cedar Ridge, California; eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and four brothers.
