ANNA MAE GIPSON
Anna Mae Gipson, 83 of Macon, died Friday, Dec. 23, 1994, at the Samaritan Memorial Hospital in Macon. Services were held yesterday at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. Burial was in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Macon.
She was born in La Plata on June 30, 1911, the daughter of James William and Lettie L. (Hatfield) Mathis. She married Robert W. Gipson on Nov. 1, 1931 in Macon. They lived in Macon most of their married life. He died on Jan. 21, 1960.
Survivors include one brother and his wife, Junior and Juanita Mathis of Macon; one son-in-law, Howard Smith of Jefferson City; one granddaughter, Yvonne Long of Jefferson City; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Dorothy Smith; two brothers, Clarence and Famis Mathis; and one sister, Orva Faught.
She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Macon. She was the owner of Anna Mae's Beauty Shop in Macon.
